29: New to the Woo? Adaire Smithwick Starts From Square One And Takes Us On The Journey

Feeling a little new to the Woo? Well, you've come to the right episode! My guest today is Adaire Smithwick. Adaire is my assistant and a content writer for my company and we’re diving into what led her to start her journey of woo woo exploration!

On Your Woo Woo Best Friend we take ancient and mystical modalities incredibly seriously. My first recommendation when exploring a new practice is to do your research. Ask questions and show up with a reverence for the lineage of the practice you’re embarking on and the ancestors who’ve brought these modalities forward.

While you do that, the reality is stepping into new experiences can be scary! Our ego wants to keep us safe, and as human beings, we’re creatures of habit. However, mystical and spiritual modalities can be incredibly life-changing, and for anyone who’s experienced that you know - you had to start somewhere!

It can be awkward and even humorous when entering into practices for the first time when you don’t know what you’re doing. If you’re committed to showing up in the right way, as you’re learning it’s okay to ask questions and make mistakes! What’s important is that you show up with respect.

Today we’ll talk ceremonies to meditation and everything in between. And if you’re just getting started yourself, there’s something for everyone, whether you start by trying out hatha yoga, or kundalini, or meditation, or the tarot - or whether you, like Adaire, travel to a faraway destination to immerse yourself in holistic modalities and ceremonies - there’s a place for you.

Adaire will share what it's like being a twenty-something working woman starting from square one on her exploration into the mystical and how it’s enhanced her self-discovery!
