Nashville in Black
Well, you wonder why I always dress in black,
Why you never see bright colors on my back,
And why does my appearance seem to have a somber tone.
Well, there's a reason for the things that I have on.
While in Nashville — the town Mr. Cash and his pal Waylon Jennings ran fire in — it only seems right to follow suit.
So I'm taking a throw back moment to those black feelings.
Other things I've got feelings for:
a good hack job on my favorite T's
the boot that changed my willingness to spend all waking moments teetering atop a high heel
any lacy duster I can get my hands on
and the joint that became my go to on the reg in my sweet little month in Nashville
Nashville, I've got the feelings for you too.
Take me back anytime... in the words of Johnny Cash: “I love songs about horses, railroads, land, Judgment Day, family, hard times, whiskey, courtship, marriage, adultery, separation, murder, war, prison, rambling, damnation, home, salvation, death, pride, humor, piety, rebellion, patriotism, larceny, determination, tragedy, rowdiness, heartbreak and love” and you're certainly full of that.
Line those things up, btw, and we could each grab ahold a few of those vices and virtues. I'll take your hard times and raise you a whiskey with a side of damnation.
Until then, I'll be down here in the bayou dressed in black.
