Optical Delusion
“A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness...” Albert Einstein, 1954
I have these moments. Riding drift wood in plain view. Surrounded by the city.
And with a spoonful of somehow
I'm the only one:
in the window seat during lunch rush / on the hum of the parade / on the daydream of the dance
It's as if, if I imagine it,
eyelashes closed tight, I'm floating
on the periphery.
Surfing in the atmosphere along side them
I call out.
To the tourist, the spectators, the lovers, the friends...
And then, we're in it.
A blushing sky, a cotton candy spark, like nothing else.
Traversing the eclipse and the equinox
together, no matter how far away.

Btw, today I'm on the West Coast; a few days in LA and then across the Pacific for a week.
I'm feeling a calmness, can't even feel the traffic and the noise. The palm trees, they've got my back.
I skipped around DTLA today and explored Old Chinatown.
Took in the view on the rooftop of the Ace Hotel and thought about how much is out there.
And how lucky each day is.
Keep your eyes open you guys. Take care of every little thing around you and all the ones you love.
Empathy and compassion. It can be so easy.
Sharing your good days, can change someone's bad.
Catch ya from the islands in a few days.
