Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius: An Exciting Cosmic Rewilding Ahead
After a transformative month of November, the winds are moving in a fresh new direction. This week, prepare for an exciting Solar Eclipse at 12°21’ of Sagittarius: a real cosmic rewilding that will bring the last 18 months to a culmination and pave the way for 2022.
Solar Eclipse: Time to Embark on New Adventures
Simply put, a Solar Eclipse is a New Moon on steroids. Happening multiple times a year, the eclipses are like a good friendly slap in the face or pat on the back to stop dragging your feet and wholeheartedly embrace change.
During the Eclipse, fated and karmic events of all sorts usually cross our path to speed up our growth process. As you can imagine, this journey isn't the most comfortable since we're hardwired to resist change.
Instead of seeing Eclipse Season as a doomed period, you have to endure and look at these emerging, or collapsing realities and beliefs in your life, as catalysts for greater awakening.
In Astrology, the Solar Eclipse is like waking up on a research ship as it's on the way to discover the "New World" during the early voyages of exploration. Dazed and confused, you have no idea what brought you there or what you'll find at the arrival, but the possibilities are endless.
As unexpected as the new beginnings the Solar Eclipse brings (a surprising phone call, a last-minute invitation, a career switch, an inspired genius idea), I encourage you to take risks and get out of your comfort zone - something this Sagittarius season will highly reward you for!
Sagittarius, or the Rick Sanchez Within
Sagittarius season is always that time of the year where we are riding on wild adventures, learning, growing, and expanding. So this is a proper period to look at your inner truth, freedom seeker and inner believer.
See, Sagittarius is related to the image of the Pilgrim, a barefoot traveler who can surprise you with his exciting stories from all around the world as he runs around searching for the Holy Grail.
Or, like me, you can think of Sagittarius as the Grandpa Rick of the Zodiac. Allow this archetype to instill lightness and wanderlust within you, minus the risks, casual ghosting, and overly-optimistic gambles.
With this Solar Eclipse in the Gemini Sagittarius Lunar nodes, we’re slowly embarking on a new journey on the Taurus-Scorpio axis, which started on November 19th and will last for about 18 months.
This week, we’re in an in-between phase, dealing with our past and future simultaneously. So, whatever you put into motion in the past 1.5 years will likely come to a halt, bearing fruits and rewards or lessons; and whatever is meant to unfold for you over the next year will also be showing up at your door.
For some context, the Gemini-Sagittarius axis we’re closing was all about knowledge, freedom, and truth. Over the past months, we were collectively and individually batting between:
Freedom vs. Complexity
Long-distance travels vs. short distance travels
Big organizations & structures vs. local communities and hive-minded pursuits
Broad truth and knowledge vs. specialized detail-oriented facts
What we know is true vs. what we perceive to be true
I won’t go into much detail, but so much has unfolded since 2020. You can see how these themes played out into the collective, especially with the global flight restrictions, media coverage, and pandemic.
On an individual level, though, this nodal energy is also at play within us. Therefore, locating the houses and planets your Gemini-Sagittarius axis inhabits is the key to figuring out where these themes directly apply to you: your finances, your beliefs, your health, your work, etc.
2 Steps Forward, 1 Step Back
Long story short: as we’re closing a chapter, we’re transitioning into another one. This end/beginning phase is delicate and slippery but full of new opportunities.
This 2 steps forward, 1 step back kind of season is an incredible time to relax and lighten up our grip. Just like going to the physiotherapist and discovering that most of our tension is stored on our back, veiled from our awareness, the same can be said about our everyday life.
Don’t forget the beautiful 1970’s concept of “getting loose.” The hippies weren’t wrong: we need to let go of societal and self-imposed constraints and blockages. So ground yourself, enjoy a good healthy meal and harmonize during this end of the year magical season.
On another note, minus Venus going retrograde in Capricorn on December 19, there’s a feeling of moving on solid ground this month with all planets moving direct in the sky. And oh boy, can we feel it!
Make sure to use the current quality of time and momentum to move away from the confusion of the last couple of months. Since Neptune is highly activated during this Solar Eclipse, there is a great chance for spiritual reawakening, healing, and creativity. Listen to that inner voice and let your muse play!
With Mars squaring Jupiter, there will also be a sense of idealism and extreme ambition. A lot of agitated energy is in the air right now, so make sure to channel it into your projects and dream-building instead of campaigning for what you believe in.
This is especially important to keep in mind as Mercury in Sagittarius is squaring Neptune in Pisces as well, which means that our mental realm may feel foggy during these upcoming days.
With distorted thought patterns and a murky perception, we could misunderstand and miscommunicate the reality around us. So instead of stressing about the factuality and accuracy of information and thoughts, I recommend channeling your spirit through automatic writing, singing, or journaling.
Solar Eclipse Journaling Prompts
My advice for the lunar cycle ahead would be to leap into a new state of consciousness, free of expectations or resistance.
Under the influence of this Solar Eclipse (eclipses have a broad span of influence, by the way, and it doesn’t end this week!), your energy will naturally become more magnetic, attracting the experiences you need at a much faster pace.
Because of this, setting intentions for yourself and the collective is important, but I wouldn’t personally recommend trying some heavy manifestation rituals as eclipses are usually times of buzzing unstable energy.
You already have all the power you need to thrive. Trust the process and concede to what is. Instead, I recommend diving deeper into observation and reflection of your past and future 1.5 years cycle by asking yourself the following questions:
What have I learned since June 2020?
What accomplishments have I achieved since this time?
How am I adapting to the changes around me and within me?
How can I adapt to these changes with more ease and joy?
With the knowledge I now have under my belt, what is my vision for my future?
What limiting beliefs do I still harbor within me as I embark on my new journey?
In which areas of my life can I be more daring, adventurous, observant, and authentic?
Am I using my thoughts, intellect, and higher mind to manifest the life of my dream?
Feel free to continue asking yourself any relevant questions this Solar Eclipse awakens and triggers within your Soul. Going inwards to reflect on your growth and feeling grateful for each step of the way is what makes this journey worth having.
I will leave you with an Oprah Winfrey quote I stumbled across today that resonated with this upcoming Eclipse: “The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.” Blessed be!
