Sacred Sex: The Moon and Ecstasy
Have your partnerships ever suffered from disconnection? Have you ever lost touch with your own Sacral Chakra? Well, look up to the moon and you may find ecstasy.
Sacred Sexuality is a pathway we can utilize to find our life’s purpose and a connection to the divine. Though building a third energy with a partner requires a strategy of consumption, protection, and peace, a polarity between two souls is potent.
The moon's phases convey forgiveness, vulnerability, infinite exploration, and total surrender, and as the lunar cycle passes, the sexual energy you and your partner build will benefit each other deeply, with the climax on the Full Moon.
Just as mindfulness within a meditation or yoga practice puts us in flow state, our awareness of the energetic exchanges within our sexual partnership can shoot us towards a kundalini-level awakening and an “ecsta”-cential connection between mind, body, and soul.
The path of Sacred Sexuality can support a person's spiritual expansion through a sacred union. Talk to your partner and consider syncing up with the moon to tame the Pingala Channel within, discover new forms of pleasure, and expand life’s manifestations!
Why choose the path of utilizing sexual energy to enhance spiritual abilities?
These euphoric energetics fuel our life's purpose and connect us to our soul's creative expression & blissful nature
When we experience a full orgasmic connection from within, our relationship with our mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual bodies begins to feel more purposeful. After all, creation is what we came here for to see, feel, smell, hear, and taste.
Here are other benefits of Sacred Sexuality:
reduce relationship anxiety
decrease relationship stress
heighten a manifestation practice
lessen toxicity
improve orgasm complications
dissolve abusive relationships
heal sexual trauma
bind partners
break addictions
holistically cure
Acknowledging sexual desire and pleasure as human behavior enhances interconnectedness, and experiencing a more fulfilling relationship with ourselves and others will connect our social, emotional, & physical identities, both individually and collectively. We all have reproductive organs, and it is our job to embrace just that.
Therefore, we can now understand why the full moon, a universal occurrence that encourages a balanced heart chakra, is a divine time to practice Sacred Sexuality to get closer to our life purpose and create wholeheartedly.
How does Sacred Sex affect our Bodies?
To understand how having Sacred Sex affects our bodies, we first must learn about the three core energy pathways: Ida, Pingala, and Sushumna.
The channels Ida and Pingala hold our passive and active energetics, like yin and yang energy, respectively. Ida runs on the left side of our body and spine, while Pingala runs on the right side.
It is important to note that the left side of our brain is connected to the Pingala channel, whereas the right side of our brain is to the Ida channel.
The space that remains dormant in the center is called Sushumna. Sushumna is the most balanced center of our bodies. It is also an electrifying element of human physiology, containing the ultimate life force energy towards ecstasy.
When two people come together for sacred sex, the energetics of the spine is awakened, and a pathway to the upmost, balanced center of our bodies is opened. Our soul is connected to its purpose and the two energies, Ida & Pingala, create the powerful third -- Sushumna.
Sushumna, therefore, is constructed through polarity and holds power in a congruous sacred union. When in balance, both sets of passive and active energies intertwine through a sexy, vulnerable acceptance.
Furthermore, it is during an orgasm that our body ignites the highest human-powered level of manifestation. Therefore, having sacred sex every full moon gets us closer to a colorful Sushumna.
As these awakened energies enter the Sushumna, we become less transparent and more electromagnetic with ourselves and our soul partner.
Since this channel is located directly in the center of our body, consider this mission:
Use sacred sex to receive visibly-felt stability by embracing the yamas and niyamas of yogic philosophy in the bedroom: non-violence, truthfulness, non-possessiveness, non-excess, non-stealing, self-discipline, purity, contentment, self-study, and surrender.
Do we need a Partner to Practice Sacred Sexuality?
Can it just be the moon and you? Yes! Though, as mentioned earlier, a polarity between two souls is very potent, we can definitely balance our energetic channels alone, and this is actually recommended before aligning a partnership with the moon’s arousal, as a matter of fact!
First, before acting out in a sacred union with a partner, recognize that the soul connection is the most important part of being human on this physical plane.
We must do the inner work, which is why we can obtain a level of kundalini awakening by practicing sacred sex by ourselves. Our energy and inner radiance will then allow us to manifest a soul partner in divine timing.
So prevent the assumption a partner is needed to experience sacred sexuality because it will be bumpy at the beginning if we choose this route. It is from within that we find our higher purpose alone. We are our own compass!
Remember, the energetics from another soul has their own free will, and free will trumps our spirit guides. So as much as we would like to change our partners, we know it's up to us to believe in the evolution of infinite love.
How to Align Sacred Sex with the Moon?
Since a full moon expands the connection between our physical body to our radiant body, using the lunar cycle is all about balancing two sets of passive and active energetics with our best efforts and spiritual rituals.
It is important to abstain from sex before and after the Full Moon to decrease animalistic tendencies and sustain our maximum energy. This designed journey is, after all, for the sacred unions that are pleasure-curious, healing, or searching for enlightenment.
New Moon: Intentionally Connect
Starting at the Third Eye Chakra, intentionally connect with a sacred partner on the New Moon and continue through the Waxing Moon Phase. This lunar phase is when the moon illuminates towards a Full Moon. These can be set rituals that include partner meditations (eye-gazing, alternate nostril breathing, and microcosmic orbit) or even movement (walks, dance classes, and yoga).
First Quarter Moon: Actively Create
Around the first quarter moon, about 7 days into this journey, flow down the Ida (left, passive) channel towards the Sacral Chakra, and embrace the endless range of possibilities to express honesty and acceptance. Be mindful of the five love languages: physical touch (without ejaculations), gift-giving, words of affirmation, quality time, and acts of service. This awareness will allow our innate spiritual gifts to shine!
As the moon's mystical powers remind us that we, too, ebb and flow, note that every lunar cycle will show us new ways to ignite love in our sexual partnerships.
The more exploration, the more our inner light will radiate from our hearts and connect to each other’s souls. This is also the moment when the third energy, Sushumna, begins to build.
Full Moon: Explore the Infinity
The full moon is when the shadows and barriers to both partners' Sushumnas are the brightest, and therefore the time to center and re-balance with sacred sex. Remember: See it, Feel it, Smell it, Hear it, Taste it.
Suppose the partnership still doesn’t feel ready for the act of sacred sex. In that case, a partner microcosmic orbit meditation can take its place!
Third Quarter Moon: Surrender to Love
Whether we choose sacred sex or mediation on the full moon, the next phase of this journey is to let go; surrender to the security and stability that we cultivated within our sacred union.
During this time, we can also create a love mantra. Unconditional love takes work, as we are asked to shed past trauma and spiritually awaken, so use the third-quarter moon, about 21 days on this journey, to honor the creation that was formed in the name of love.
Here's a mantra suggestion to end this lunar cycle sex voyage:
I listen to the wisdom.
I receive wisdom.
I have wisdom.
& then we begin again, just like the moon.
Microcosmic Orbit Meditation
What's a Microcosmic Orbit Meditation?
A microcosmic orbit meditation is a visualization and breathwork that helps move energy through an infinity symbol between two partners. The orbital flow will channel energy to an individual and back to the self from the reproductive organs to the crown.
In a comfortable position, one partner will inhale their breath up the back from their reproductive organs to Crown Chakra, as the other partner exhales their energy down their front side from the Mind to Sacral Chakra. Then vice versa!
The partner who inhaled first will then exhale their breath down the front side of their body from Mind to Sacral Chakra, as the other partner inhales the breath up their back receiving the energy towards the crown of their head.
(Try sustaining four counts at the top and bottom of the breath for a more advanced version. Use this during sexual engagement as well!)
Respect your individualized creative expression and the moon will provide its ecstasy. As you expand your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual body through sacred sex, be sure to fully announce your love and suffering. This surrenders you to your true essence and allows you to entrust your truth. La Luna will surely douce you when you’re looking for wisdom, but only when you listen and believe.
